Unveiling Descript’s Text to AI Video: Transform Text into Engaging Video Content
This was hands-down the shortest podcast episode I’ve ever done — but also one of the most mind-blowing.
I recently tested out the brand new feature, Descript video editing – Text to AI Video, and I had to share it with you. This tool has the potential to completely change the way we create video content, especially for podcasters, content creators, and business owners like you and me.
Descript – My Favorite Editing Tool All The Time
I’ve been using Descript for years now. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t even be a podcast producer if it weren’t for this tool. I used to edit with GarageBand (ugh), but Descript made podcasting fun and easy.
It’s helped me grow Seven Million Bikes Podcasts, produce over a thousand episodes, and support shows that have hit the top podcast charts.
Blurry Background Filter
One of those features was a blurry background filter — and if you caught the episode on YouTube, you’d have seen me testing it out again. The first time I tried it, it looked a bit fake. It kind of projected me weirdly, and the background didn’t blend naturally. But I gave it another go while recording A Vietnam Podcast, and this time, I actually liked it more. Go have a look on YouTube and let me know what you think.
The Studio Sound – The Game Changer
Another feature I’ve always raved about is Studio Sound. I recorded that episode in my living room — not ideal for audio. There’s a kitchen behind me, big glass windows, tiles on the floor (welcome to life in Vietnam), and zero carpeting to absorb sound.
I used my Maono PDX 200 microphone (which I prefer over the Shure MV7, to be honest), and held about a fist away from my mouth. I even turned off the air conditioning to minimize background noise. But still, without Studio Sound, there’s a ton of white noise in the background.
So I did a live demo on the podcast: first without Studio Sound, then with it turned on — and the difference was unreal. I’ve said it before: my friend Lewis used to help me clean up my audio. When Studio Sound launched, I sent him a sample and he literally said, “I can’t do any better than this.”

New feature: Text to AI Video
But the real reason I made that episode was to test Descript’s latest feature: Text to AI Video. This tool blew my mind.
Here’s how it worked:
- Type in a script
I started with a simple text script — nothing fancy, just one line that I wanted to turn into a video. Choose an AI narrator
Descript offered a default AI narrator named “Dolores,” which made me laugh a little — but I decided to switch it out for my own AI voice. I had previously trained Descript to clone my voice (yes, that’s a thing), so I selected “Niall” as the narrator.
The voice sounded impressively close to me. It didn’t quite carry all the energy and inflection I normally bring when speaking live — but for an AI version, it was eerily accurate. If you’ve ever wanted to clone yourself to do voiceovers while you sip coffee in your pajamas, this isn’t it. Yet! But who knows what the future holds…

- Descript Did the Rest
And then… I just hit generate. In about two to three minutes, Descript generated a full video — complete with images, animations, and captions.
There was no need to record myself on camera. No actors. No script read-through. No fiddling with editing timelines, stock footage, or B-roll. Just me, my laptop, and a sentence of text — turned into a polished video in minutes.
For creators, coaches, educators, and business owners who want to show up online without actually having to “show up,” this is a game-changer.

Why the Editing Process Matters More Than You Think
Great content starts with a great idea — but it’s the editing process that turns that idea into something polished, professional, and worth sharing.
For podcasters, editing is the difference between a raw conversation and a compelling story. It shows respect for your audience’s time and attention. A clean, well-edited episode builds trust and keeps people coming back for more:
- Removes distractions – Cuts out awkward pauses, filler words (“um”, “you know”), and background noise.
- Keeps the message clear – Refines your content so your main points shine without getting lost in the weeds.
- Increases professionalism – A polished episode or video builds credibility and reflects positively on your brand.
- Respect your audience’s time – Tight editing keeps your content engaging and efficient, so people stick around.
However, editing is not that easy that it is so time-consuming and frustrating. So if you’re having the same problems, let Seven Million Bikes help you.
Who I Am
I started my very first podcast back in 2019 — just for fun. No big plans. No production crew. Just me, a mic, and something to say. That show, A Vietnam Podcast, eventually grew to nearly 100,000 downloads and became the longest-running English-language podcast in Vietnam. That still blows my mind.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. And that passion led to something even bigger — I launched my own podcast production agency: Seven Million Bikes Podcasts.
Since then, we’ve:
- Helped over 60 podcasts
- Produced more than 1,000 episodes
- Hit millions of downloads for clients
- Supported shows that reached the top of the podcast charts
- Even picked up awards along the way, like Audio Producer of the Year, Best Interview Podcast of the Year and Best SME at the BritCham Vietnam Awards
Most importantly, I’ve had the chance to work with amazing people and help them use podcasting to share their voices, build trust, and grow their brands.
If you have a business and you’re looking for an innovative, authentic way to build trust, share your story, and connect with your audience — podcasting is the answer. It’s one of the most powerful tools for growing your brand and creating long-term engagement.
At Seven Million Bikes Podcasts, I offer a complete podcasting package so you don’t have to worry about a thing. From recording, editing, and publishing, to writing blog posts and show notes for every episode — I’ve got you covered. Contact me or visit my website NOW.
